I chose UNI because of the strong accounting program. The size of the campus was also one of my favorite things. It is not too big, but not too small!
I love the class sizes. They are small enough that the professors know you by name, and they treat you as a person, not a number.
I was surprised at how much professors truly care about what you learn in the class. I thought since UNI was a public university, I would get lost in the thousands of students on campus. The professors are very personable and want to help you get to where you want to go in life, not just get you through the class.
I am currently involved in the Honors Program. This has allowed me to have more in-depth study in a one-on-one situation with professors. I have also joined the Omicron Delta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies. These will give me opportunities to make a difference not only on campus, but in the community as well.
My academic experience has been fantastic! I love being an accounting major. The upper level courses have challenged me, but each of my professors has been there to help me with understanding the course. One of my professors even asked us to tell him when we would like him to have office hours because he wanted to accommodate our schedules.
I like meeting all the business people. The College of Business Administration does a great job of bringing in business people not only from the community, but from around the nation as well. I even had the vice president of Wells Fargo speak in one of my classes.
At UNI I am making a difference in the world.
I LOVE the Rialto dining center. The most important thing to any college student is food. If you leave the Rialto hungry, it’s your fault.
The first few weeks of your freshman year are the only time in your life when everyone around you is looking to meet someone new. If you see someone, introduce yourself! You never know. It could be the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
I will remember all of the people I have met. These friendships are going to be life long.
They have been great. They handled all of my scholarships and paper work without any trouble.
I plan to get my CPA and then either go into public accounting or continue on to law school. UNI has given me a TREMENDOUS undergraduate education.
