Why did you choose UNI?

I chose UNI because it is a small campus yet it is big enough to meet a lot of people and get a good education

What's the best thing about UNI?

The best thing about UNI is the people; faculty and staff are really welcoming. The class size is perfect because you can get a lot of one-on-one time with your professors if you need help.

What surprised you most about UNI?

What surprised me the most about UNI is how friendly people are and all the opportunities for learning.

What kind of on-campus organizations/activities are you involved in? How does that involvement enrich your overall college experience?

Ethnic Student Promoters, International Student Association and work with multicultural students in the Office of Admissions. All  of the organizations in which I’m involved have helped me develop leadership skills and grow as an individual.

How has your academic experience been? Tell us about any great classes or professors that inspired or challenged you. Are you happy with your major choice?

My academic experience has been great. I like the fact that all of my professors know me by my name and they provide a good learning environment.

What do you like best about your major?

One of the best things about my major, elementary education, is that I am already getting field experience at Lincoln Elementary School in Cedar Falls. Working one-on-one with actual instructors in my field is a great learning experience. I really enjoy working with kids and getting that teacher experience.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?

My favorite places on campus are the Wellness/Recreation Center and the library. I love going to the WRC with my friends to work out and play basketball. The library is also one of my favorite places because I get a lot of my studying done during finals. J

What advice would you give high school students getting ready for college?

I would advise students to take college credit classes if they are offered at their high school (to save money) and also maintain a good GPA during high school.

Years from now, what will you remember most about UNI?

Years from now I will remember the relationships (friends, mentors, faculty, and etc.) I built at UNI and all my academic and personal achievements.

Has the Financial Aid office helped you with your college education? If so, in what ways?

The staff in financial aid is always willing to help you with anything you need. They have helped me a lot when I had questions about scholarships or other financial questions.

What do you plan to do with your UNI education?

My UNI education is a stepping stone and a foundation to my career. I plan to work with children and make a difference in someone’s life. J
