UNI Forensics to Host Members of the Iowa Supreme Court

University of Northern Iowa Forensics will be hosting members of the Iowa Supreme Court on Friday, October 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Schindler Education Center, room 252.

The Iowa Supreme Court justices will be speaking on the role appellate courts play in the judicial process.  Appellate courts review decisions of trials in which appeals have been allowed.  An appellate court does not preside over trials nor involve witnesses, juries, new evidence, or court reporters.  Instead, an appellate court reviews the written record of the trial court to determine whether any significant legal errors occurred.

This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, please contact Kate Lavelle, Director of Forensics, at Katherine.Lavelle@uni.edu or by phone at 319-273-7200.
