Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Field Experiences

Level 1 and Level 2

UNI's Department of Teaching coordinates field experience placements for hundreds of students every semester. Students in Levels 1 and 2 are matched with exceptional mentor teachers in the Cedar Valley. Students and mentor teachers are supported by a cadre of Field Experience Coordinators who have many years of experience teaching in PK-12 classrooms.

Level 3

Time and Course: Varies depending on major and associated methods courses.

Elementary: ELEMECML 3129 Elementary Classroom Management, 40-hour, immersive full-week experience, in addition to field experiences associated with other methods courses (more information). Department of Teaching faculty assist with Level 3 placements in local PDS schools and in student teaching centers.

For information about other majors and programs, see majors links on right side of the Teacher Education Web page.
