2+2 Elementary Education (BA)
Program specific information
If you’re thinking about changing jobs or careers, you can make a change AND stay in your home community. The UNI 2+2 program is for students who have family priorities and fixed job schedules. UNI partners with community colleges across Iowa to help educate students where they live. Upon completion, 2+2 students earn a UNI bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Students who have completed a community college associate's degree are eligible for the UNI 2+2 program.
2+2 students take classes at their local community college and the equivalent of two years of UNI courses taught by UNI faculty at the community college campus, online, or via interactive video technologies.
Cost and financial aid
All students pay the same tuition rate, regardless of location, making it an affordable option for all students.
Tuition for the 2012-13 academic year is $431 per unit of graduate credit or $277 per unit of undergraduate credit. An additional technology fee per course may apply. Tuition and fees are expected to rise each May, and are typically announced by the Iowa Board of Regents each March.
Distance education students may qualify for financial aid with the following eligibility requirements:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Be admitted to UNI and enrolled in a degree-seeking program
- Be enrolled for a minimum number of credits per semester or summer session
- Be in compliance with satisfactory academic progress standards
Specific questions about financial aid should be directed to the Office of Student Financial Aid at 800-772-2736 or fin-aid@uni.edu
