The fall 2013 class of freshmen and transfer students are signing up for rooms on campus through the Department of Residence online contract process. Students who get their contract in early (and get an early “initial contract date”) have an advantage for all 4 years that they live on campus as the initial room assignment and subsequent room selection are based on the initial contract date.

Meal plans have been simplified for 2013-14. Two Community Plans -- featuring unlimited dining access -- will be available to students beginning fall 2013.

A new level of convenient access to dining centers is available in Piazza at Redeker Center and Rialto at Towers Center. Students who sign up for Easy Access, a touchpad access system, will be able to enter Piazza and Rialto dining centers without presenting their ID card. Enrollment continues through spring semester:
- Piazza: weekdays, 8:30 - 3 p.m., at Piazza office
- Rialto: any time the Rialto is open -- contact a manager.

Joe Tripp-Rieks has been named to Director of Facilities for the Department of Residence at University of Northern Iowa. The Department of Residence manages residence communities and dining for more than 4200 students who are living in eight residence halls and three apartment communities.
