About the scholarship
The Nadyne Harris Scholarship for Honors Research provides funding to students in the University Honors Program who are completing the Honors Thesis. Funding is awarded to offset costs related to the Thesis, such as supplies, specialized software, photocopying, printing, mailing, photography, and travel to research sites. Funding will not be awarded for conference travel to present research.
The application must include an itemized budget and any changes to the original budget must be resubmitted for approval. Awards must be credited to student E-bills due to scholarship regulations. The maximum award is $300; award amounts will vary depending on the number of applicants and the funds available.
Applicants must be:
Members in good academic standing of the University Honors Program
Majors in the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences or the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (due to donor restrictions)
Enrolled in UNIV 4197 - Honors Thesis, or have submitted a proposal approved by the thesis advisor.
Submission Of Applications
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and funding decisions will be made within two weeks of submission. It is recommended that students apply as soon as funding needs become evident because research funds are limited.
Awarding Of Funds
In order to have the funds credited, students must submit itemized receipts to the Honors Program office. In most cases, funds will not be credited until all purchases are complete.
