On October 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, William N. Ruud was installed as the 10th president of the University of Northern Iowa. A reception immediately followed the ceremony.

Students were invited to attend the President's Picnic on Thursday, Oct. 3, on the Campanile Plaza. (Rain site: Maucker Union.) They enjoyed free walking tacos while listening to UNI music ensembles and music DJ'ed by KULT radio. Northern Iowa Student Government President Tom Madsen and Vice President Blake Findley presented a short program.

Faculty, staff and community members were invited to attend a reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, in the Georgian Lounge in Commons. Light refreshments were served, and a short program began at 4:30 p.m.

Prior to arriving at UNI on May 31, 2013, Dr. William N. Ruud served as the 15th president of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and also in various leadership capacities at colleges and universities across the U.S.
