2014 Student Leadership Awards

Join us for an evening of community and leadership as we recognize individuals and groups from across campus who are doing great things for UNI and the community.
Do you know of students, organizations or advisors that are deserving of recognition?  Nominate them for the following awards: (We also encourage you to to self-nominate)

Individual Award Applications/Nominations:

Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award
Award to recognize a faculty or staff student organization advisor who through his/her service, dedication, mentorship and leadership has guided the student organization to distinguish itself.

Emerging Leader of the Year Award
Award is designed to recognize a member in a student organization that has demonstrated emerging leadership in the organization, a commitment to developing his/her leadership ability, and has exceeded the expectations of the  membership of the organization. The nominee must be in their first year of membership in the student organization and/or their first or second year of enrollment at UNI. 

Outstanding Student Leader Award (Joint nomination with Lux Service Award) (note:applications are no longer being accepted for this award)
The Outstanding Student Leader Award is designed to recognize students who have excelled and exemplified outstanding service, dedication and leadership through their involvement and participation in university recognized student organizations.

Lux Service Award (Joint nomination with Outstanding Student Leader Award) (note:applications are no longer being accepted for this award)
The Lux Service Award is the most prestigious award given to undergraduate students each academic year to acknowledge their exemplary service through their involvement in the campus community.

Student Organization Award Applications/Nominations:

Program of Distinction Award

This award is to recognize significant achievements by student organizations in the planning and presentation of programs, either a one-time event or a series of events marketed as a single program. Important elements of the program might include evidence of co-sponsorship, attracting a diverse audience, and effective evaluation.

Student Organization of the Year Award
This award is to recognize a student organization that has exemplified excellence among its peers in the dedication and development of its members, and its contributions to the campus community and beyond. 

Deadlines:
Applications/Nominations are due by Friday, March 14th at 4:00 pm to the Student Involvement Center for the following awards:
-Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award
-Emerging Leader of the Year Award
-Program of Distinction Award
-Student Organization of the Year Award

Nominations for the Outstanding Student Leader Award and Lux Service Award are due Friday, February 21st to the Dean of Students Office.
After the nomination is received, nominees are sent information about how to complete the nomination process if they are interested.  The nominee must then submit an application and resume to 118 Gilchrist by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 14. Nominees who qualify will be considered as an award recipient for both awards.
