WATERLOO, Iowa -- With more than 1.8 million Iowa users on LinkedIn and 1.5 million Iowans on Facebook, business owners can't afford to ignore social media as an important marketing tool for their business. The University of Northern Iowa has partnered with the Waterloo Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation on a presentation on social media for business owners. The presentation, "Social Media Tools for Small Businesses," will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

In this free presentation, attendees can expect to learn more about Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for business development. The presentation is part of a larger effort among many organizations to develop and implement a plan to foster and grow an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Waterloo Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (CURA).
