CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- William Gazecki, Oscar-nominated filmmaker, will present the annual Reninger Lecture at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 14, in the Great Reading Room on the University of Northern Iowa campus. He will discuss documentary filmmaking and its impact on culture.

Gazecki's 1997 film 'Waco: Rules of Engagement' was nominated for an Oscar, and his recent film 'Crop Circles' has been critically acclaimed.

The annual Reninger Lecture Series was inaugurated in 1973 by the faculty and alumni of the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Northern Iowa in honor of H. W. Reninger, head of the department from 1939 to 1968.

Admission to the lecture is free and open to the public.
