UNI marketing fraternity named top chapter in the nation

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Epsilon Theta chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) was named 2013 Lewis F. Gordon Top Gold Chapter at the National Convention in San Diego. Students in the sales and marketing fraternity competed against chapters from 29 universities across the nation in numerous events and won several awards.

In addition to the Lewis F. Gordon award, the group placed first, second and third in the Boss Games, a marketing company simulation game and was first runner-up for Top Service Project and Top Management Team.

Individual honors include Cris Houlihan, a senior marketing major from Cedar Falls, and Matt Funke, '12, who were first runners-up for Top Project Manager. Brendon Brauer, a senior accounting major from Polk City, was first runner-up for Top PSE Salesperson. Phil Musson, a management and Spanish double major from Iowa City, placed fifth in the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon and first for the Whan Challenger Award, awarded for excellent leadership skills.

Scholarships were awarded to Samantha Kueny, Ethan Thompson, Jessie Nemesi, Chris Houlihan and Philip Musson.
