CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa celebrated its fourth annual Student Employment Week April 14-18, and named five Student Employees of the Year.

Those chosen were Jason Bauer, a marketing management senior from Boone, working as a telesales supervisor and program coordinator for the Office of Alumni Relations; Laura Engle, a public relations senior from Panora, working as an athletic media relations student assistant for Athletic Media Relations; Christi Miller, a senior marketing major from Marshalltown, who works as a public relations assistant for Wellness and Recreation Services; Hillary Schlueter, a senior from Guttenberg, majoring in political science and working as a cooperative education legislative assistant for Governmental Relations; and Erica Thornton, a senior all sciences teaching major from Archer, who works as a peer instructor in the Department of Academic Advising.

The students received a plaque and attended a luncheon with their parents. Also attending were their nominating supervisors, UNI President Robert Koob and Vice President for Educational and Student Services Rene Romano.

This year, the university also named a Student Employer of the Year, choosing Karen Agee, reading and learning strategies coordinator for Academic Advising Services.
