CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa's New Horizons Band (NHB) will perform a concert Tuesday, July 23, in Overman Park, downtown Cedar Falls preceding the Cedar Falls Municipal Band Concert. The pre-show concert will be at 6:30 p.m.

The final NHB summer performance will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 25, at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls. This concert will be indoors and will also include a reception following the concert.

The New Horizons Band is sponsored by the UNI School of Music and the UNI Community Music School. The group includes members ages 55 and older with various musical backgrounds who travel from all over Iowa to rehearse and perform. The band started in 1999 with 17 members and now has over 80.
