UNI Suzuki School announces beginning classes and parent orientation

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The UNI Suzuki School invites parents and beginning music students to learn more about the Suzuki School program this August. Orientation for parents and pre-instrument sessions for students ages 3 through 7 for viola or violin will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, Aug. 11 though 28, in Russell Hall on the UNI campus. Pre-registration is required. These sessions are required for young students who are considering joining the UNI Suzuki School for the 2014 academic year. Instruments are not necessary for the August sessions.

Parents only will attend the first three sessions (from 6 to 8 p.m.) students will join the sessions beginning Aug. 21. The cost for these classes is $102 and registration is due by Aug. 1.

The UNI Suzuki School offers music instruction for students of all ages in violin, viola, cello, guitar and flute. Adult students of any level are also welcome. In addition, the school sponsors several orchestras, offers coached music ensembles, unique music-related classes, and numerous performance opportunities, including solo and group performances.
