CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will host "Shining Stars: Girls Looking Ahead Camp" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, June 18 through Friday, June 22, in the Schindler Education Center on the UNI Campus.

This camp is open to girls from the Waterloo and Cedar Falls area who are looking for an opportunity to widen their horizons through a variety of experiences. Girls will learn the art of dance, theater, music, languages, poetry and how to write their own personal stories. Motivational speakers will also visit during the week to encourage the girls to plan for their future. Students will be able to visit various parts of the UNI campus.

"I hope that this camp will allow girls to continue to explore a variety of experiences by sharing their gifts, talents and interests, while being part of the university community," said Gloria Holmes, associate professor of curriculum and instruction.

Cost of the camp is $50. To register, visit http://www.uni.edu/camps/shining-stars-girls-looking-ahead-camp. For more information, contact Holmes at 319-273-2007 or gloria.holmes@uni.edu.
