CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will host Kindergym, an informal learning program focusing on the development and refinement of motor skills. The program will be offered Saturday mornings from 9 to 9:50 a.m. for 4- and 5-year-olds and from 10 to 10:50 a.m. for 2- and 3-year-olds. The program will also be offered Monday mornings at 10 a.m. Kindergym Monday sessions will start Jan. 14 and end on Feb. 25. Saturday sessions will be held Feb. 2 through Mar. 9. Both sessions will be in the Wellness and Recreation Center main gym 84 on the UNI campus.
Physical activity stations will focus on age appropriate movement skills that encourage success in a fun atmosphere. Kindergym is a parent/child program, and parents are requested to attend the sessions with their child.
The registration fee is $32 for the Saturday session and $50 for the Monday session. The deadline for registration is Jan. 19. The program is directed by Katie Farwell, program assistant in the Department of Health, Physical Education & Leisure Services.
