CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa is accepting applications for its state-approved online Education of the Gifted Endorsement program that begins fall 2014. Designed for classroom teachers and graduate students holding a current Iowa teaching certificate or approved equivalent, this program addresses all national standards for preparing teachers of the gifted.
Courses in this program can be completed in two semesters and are offered entirely online via eLearning, a Blackboard learning management system. Teaching requirements for the final practicum course can usually be completed in the classroom teacher's school or district. Courses begin this fall using a cohort model in which a group of students move together through the course sequence, with the endorsement coursework to be completed in May 2015.
