UNI to offer Teacher Success Strategies course

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will offer a professional development course focusing on strategies that assist high school teachers and college instructors in classroom success. The two-credit-hour course will be completed primarily online via eLearning. Students will also receive two days of hands-on experience on the UNI campus in August.

Teacher Success Strategies (TECH 4133/5133) will be offered online from Aug. 6 through Sept. 14. The portion of the course which takes place on UNI's campus will occur from Aug. 16 and 17. Tuition is $277 per undergraduate credit and $431 per graduate credit. Course credit may also apply toward community college professional development programs.

The course will serve as a new teacher's workshop as well as an update for experienced teachers. It's designed to meet the needs of both career and technical faculty in the arts and sciences. The course will focus on practical strategies that contribute to increased success in the classroom and provide a refresher on curriculum, instruction and evaluation.
