UNI's dance troupes to perform during Homecoming week

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa's dance companies, Orchesis and International Dance Theatre, will present their annual fall dance concert as part of Homecoming week. The concert will be from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, and 2 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, at Bengtson Auditorium in Russell Hall.

The companies will perform a variety of dance styles including hip-hop, ballet, ballroom and multicultural. The event is free of charge and open to all ages.

Orchesis is a UNI dance company composed of students interested in pursuing dance choreography, performance and production. The International Dance Theatre is a student-based performing group sponsored by the UNI School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services, which strives to expose students to a variety of different dances.
