CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Dance Team came in fourth place in the nation in Division I for their jazz routine and pom routine at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Fla. The competition is the most prestigious college cheerleading and dance team championship in the country.

"This is the first time in the UNI Dance Team's history that we have placed top five at the UDA College Dance Team Championship in both pom and jazz," said Megan Wolcott, adviser for the UNI Dance Team. "This is a great accomplishment for the program, and I am excited to see how this motivates the future dance team members."

The dance team will recruit new members during tryouts, which will take place Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14. More information and registration forms can be found at http://tinyurl.com/b4hx8vw.
