Pharmacy Closing:
The UNI Pharmacy will be closing for the summer, effective May 10th at 5:00 p.m. You may stop in to
receive a summer supply of medication beginning the week before finals week. However, refills must be
available and insurance and other restrictions may apply.
Options for your prescriptions:
- You may transfer the prescription to another pharmacy. Please contact the pharmacy where
you want the prescription to be filled and they will call us to transfer it, this must done prior
to May 10th.
- During the summer months (May, June, July, and until August 23rd) you may ask your physician
for a prescription to take with you.
- You may ask your physician to call or fax a new prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
Once we are closed for the summer, you should contact your local pharmacy or physician for further
assistance. If you have questions please call the UNI Pharmacy prior to May 10 th at 319-273-2154. The
UNI Pharmacy will reopen on Friday, August 23rd.
How do I fill a prescription at UNI?
Bring in the written prescription to the pharmacy with your insurance card.

Your doctor may call in the prescription to (319) 273-2154
or
fax it to the pharmacy at (319)273-5101.
Answer a few questions from the pharmacy staff about your drug allergies and any other medication you are taking.
What to do after we have your prescription request:
Relax and read a current magazine while you wait a few minutes for us to bill your insurance and fill your prescription.
Pick up your prescription when called by the pharmacy staff. The pharmacist will counsel you about the medication and answer any questions you may have about it.
Pay with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or put it on your University account (U-Bill, E-Bill). You will also need to sign for our privacy policy and to verify that you picked up the prescription.
