Councils

Special councils are periodically appointed by the President as needed.

University Council

The University Council is a one-hour meeting, four times a year, of key university administrative officers. Issues of importance are discussed with the university community, often with the assistance of other university administrators.

Transition Team

The Presidential Transition Team  works to facilitate the transition between the current president and the new president in a systematic fashion.

Diversity

The Diversity Council is responsible for providing the leadership and coordination necessary to achieve the diversity-related goals of the university.

The Diversity Advisory Committee provides advice and counsel to the Diversity Council on matters pertinent to advancing UNI’s diversity agenda. The committee reports to VP for Student Affairs.

Enrollment

The Enrollment Council assists in guiding the president and the university in developing effective, quantifiable enrollment management practices.

Enterprise Risk Management

The purpose of the Enterprise Risk Management Council is to assist with the integration and coordination of University risk management efforts, provide leadership in assessing risk across the institution, help identify and prioritize areas for review, assist in identifying strategies to mitigate risk, and make recommendations on institutional policies and procedures in order to ensure effective and efficient practices to manage risk across the university.

Sustainability

The charge of the Sustainability Council is to advise the president on policies and activities that will comply with state of Iowa and Board of Regents' sustainability programs and efforts. It will lead the charge to reduce carbon emissions at the University of Northern Iowa, and work to educate the university community about lifelong energy-conscious behaviors and techniques to save money and resources.
