Budget Update - November 2011

To deal with our FY 12 academic affairs 2.2 million budget reduction, academic affairs has permanently reduced faculty and staff lines through retirement and/or phased retirements, suspended some searches, and reallocated general fund support to non-general fund accounts.  Some faculty and staff lines on phased retirement will receive one-time “bridge” money to fund lines through FY 13.  However, these solutions are not strategic and soon we will begin to systematically review academic programs to assure strategic reallocation of resources.
