Land Aerobics Instructor Training

This course covers all aspects of teaching kickboxing, boot camp, interval training, strength conditioning, and indoor cycling. Participants must be current UNI students and commit to teaching at least 3 semesters after training is complete.

Aquatic Instructor Training

Learn to teach group aquatic exercise classes. Learn shallow and deep water formats, strength training, and leadership skills. Participants must be current UNI students and commit to teaching 2 semesters after training is complete. Five other sessions TBD.

Yoga Instructor Certification

This informative workshop gives you the tools to create vinyasa yoga classes. The training includes physical execution, pose breakdowns, transitions, and leadership skills with emphasis on effectiveness and safety. If you are interested in teaching yoga, this training is a good place to start. Certification awarded upon successful completion. Open to the public.

Mat Pilates Certification

Learn to teach the basic mat principles, proper alignment, execution and breathing for the major Pilates moves. Learn coaching skills, cueing, planning and implementing a quality group exercise class. Learn to use stability and body bar. Open to the public.
FEE: $150

Strength, Toning and Core Instructor Training

Learn how to teach a strength and toning-based group exercise class as well as basic anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the body. Learn how to plan, organize and set up a safe and effective full body workout. Instructor will take you through a variety of exercise equipment such as basic dumbbells, stability ball, medicine balls, BOSU, resistance bands and more. Text included. Class limited to 15.

Cycling Instructor Certification

You will learn how to design a class format, instructor cueing, proper set up and safety precaution on the bikes. You will also practice interval training, jumps, hills, sprints, and use of music to motivate. Open to the public.
