UNI Dance Marathon exceeds fundraising goal

UNI's chapter of Dance Marathon experienced another record-breaking moment at their "big event" on Saturday, March 1. Students, dancers and families exceeded the fundraising goal of $125,000 by more than $50,000! Approximately $176,498.03 was raised for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital - this amount places UNI Dance Marathon in the top 18 chapters in the nation out of more than 200 chapters.

This year, the group also committed $50,000 of last year's total and $50,000 of this year's total to go towards the new UI Children's Hospital to fund a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Room, which will be sponsored in the name of UNI Dance Marathon. "Everyone who uses this room will see our program, our efforts and more importantly, our school," said Nate Dobbels, UNI Dance Marathon co-executive director. "This room will literally save lives!"
