DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman
Ellen Kullman, chair of the board and CEO of DuPont, will visit the University of Northern Iowa on Thursday, March 4. Kullman will be the inaugural speaker for a new distinguished guest lecture series featuring top corporate leaders at 2 p.m., in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Kullman, 53, is the 19th executive to lead the company in DuPont's 207-year history. She became CEO on Jan. 1, 2009, and chair of the board on Dec. 31, 2009. Also in 2009, Kullman ranked No. 7 on both Fortune and Forbes lists of most powerful women.
"It's a great honor and a rare opportunity to have a world business leader of Ellen Kullman's caliber on campus," said UNI President Ben Allen. "She will be able to share her perspective on the world business climate and the challenges of corporate leadership today. This is an invaluable opportunity to enrich the educational experience for our students, and the broader community."
