The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers you the opportunity
to obtain college credit via standardized examinations. Any University
of Northern Iowa student may attempt to earn credit through CLEP. Students
are more likely to successfully earn CLEP credit if they:
- ranked in the top 20 percent of their high school class
- earned an ACT composite of 26 or above
- scored a 26 in the ACT test area that relates to CLEP
(i.e., English ACT- English CLEP, etc.)
- completed advanced course work in high school.
Additionally, nontraditional adult students many take advantage of CLEP
as a way to earn college credit for their work and life experiences.
UNI does not grant credit for all CLEP Examinations. Examinations accepted
for credit at UNI can be found at clepex.html.
The CLEP Registration Form includes a list of all examinations offered
