Join UNI Student Disability Services and Exceptional Persons, Inc. in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Fill out a poster to tell everyone why you are celebrating, then keynote speaker, Provost Jim Wohlpart will kick off a 1-mile walk around campus.
According to disabilitystatistics.org, just over 12% of people in the United States reported having a disability in the year 2012. The Americans with Disabilities Act helps ensure that Americans with disabilities are not discriminated against because of their disability. Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come in 25 years and raise awareness to help continue the trend in the next 25 years!
