Coordinated by faculty artist Julia Bullard, the UNI Viola Festival will offer hands on workshops as well as guest artist performances. She brought down the house last fall when she opened for Bonnie Raitt, now she’s back, this time with the Blind Boys of Alabama. This will be a holiday infused concert you won’t soon forget. Staples has been a rock of American music for more than six decades. She’s a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, a National Heritage Fellowship Award winner…the list goes on and on. The Blind Boys of Alabama, performing together for almost 80 years, are gospel legends. Don’t miss this night of music that will speak to your heart and feed your soul.

The timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet comes to life in this full-length piece based on Shakespeare’s tragic love story. Featuring the majesty of a huge corps du ballet and soaring music by Sergei Prokofiev, the feuding families and doomed couple come to life on stage. Led by founder and artistic director Elena Radchenko, Russian National Ballet Theatre is classical ballet at its best.
