Susannah Cahalan is the author of "Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness," an autobiography about the month when her brain was attacking itself due to encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain. She doesn't have any personal memories of this month and had to piece the information together from her medical documents and the stories of others.
