How do we help facilitate discussions and keep them going? This session focuses on strategies that will help you and your students create effective classroom discussions.

"Elect Her - Panther Women Win" is a leadership training that cultivates the skills young women need to run for student government and excel in leadership positions. Students learn how to craft a message, networking skills and hear from inspiring speakers, including elected officials and a communications expert. A networking reception will follow the event. Friday, February 5, 2016 (All day) to Sunday, February 7, 2016 (All day)

The 40th Annual UNI Overseas Recruiting Fair begins at 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb, 5. You must be present at the event by 7 a.m. on Friday to fully utilize the Fair. Fair activities continue through 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7. Successful candidates will make arrangements to attend the Fair all three days. The Fair will host more than 120 international schools recruiting from more than 65 countries. Recruiters typically conduct more than 1,800 interviews and candidates average five interviews each during the event. Many schools also conduct orientation sessions at the Fair, which offer detailed information on schools/countries.

The Northern Festival of Bands, an annual honor band festival for high school band students, which typically hosts over 40 schools and over 250 individual students, will be held February 11-13, 2016. The event will feature performances by the UNI Wind Symphony and UNI Symphonic Band on Friday evening as well as Saturday afternoon’s performance featuring solo competition winners, the festival’s percussionist groups, Festival Concert Band and Festival Symphony Band. Concerts: Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Friday’s concert is free and open to the public. The Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the UNI School of Music invite you and your band to the 61st Annual Tallcorn Jazz Festival and 65th Sinfonian Dimensions in Jazz Concerts to be held on February 19 and 20, 2016, on the UNI campus. The UNIBusiness-John Deere Supply Chain Forum is an industry-academic partnership, designed to give supply chain professionals and UNI faculty and students an opportunity to join together to share industry best practices and network, while showcasing the talent within the UNI Supply Chain and Operations Management program. Conference check-in is from 8:30-9 a.m. The conference agenda will include approximately three main speakers, a student competition team presentation during lunch and networking time. This conference is offered free of charge with sponsorship from the John Deere Foundation, the Bradford Chair in International Business and the Bill Kimball Fund. Lunch presentation will be provided by the UNI Student Competition Team.
