Stephanie R. Logan, curriculum and instruction, is the presener for this forum. She is a former elementary school teacher and elementary and middle school counselor. She will be speaking on her experiences in teaching and how intersectionality has affected them.
Julie Husband, Languages and Literatures, will present “Frederick Douglass’s Oratory and Political Leadership.” The event is free and open to the public.
Catherine H. Palczewski, communication studies, is the presenter for this forum. Her lecture will reflect on the activism of the women who fought for the right to vote.
Catherine McGillivray, Languages and Literatures, will present “From ‘Talking Cure’ to ‘Gender as a Soft Assembly’: A Brief History of the Contributions of Women to Psychoanalysis.” The event is free and open to the public.
The winner of the "UNI Outstanding Graduate Paper on Gender" will present their research.
Distinguished visiting filmmaker Abigail Disney will screen her film 'The Armor of Light' followed by discussion.
