It Takes an Iowan

The UNI Museum is hosting "It Takes an Iowan" at the Marshall Center School (corner of W. 23rd and Indiana Streets) from Sept. 9 to Oct. 8. This exhibit, provided by Silos and Smokestacks, focuses on Iowans as leaders in the ongoing endeavor to provide food for the nation and the world. The exhibit will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It Takes An Iowan was created by Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA). SSNHA is one of 49 federally designated heritage areas in the nation and is an affiliated area of the National Park Service. The heritage area covers 37 counties in the northeast quadrant of Iowa. Through a network of sites, programs and events, SSNHA interprets farm life, agribusiness, and rural communities—past and present.
