Ninth Annual African-American Read-In

The Ninth Annual African-American Read-in is a community outreach project of the student organization Multiculutral Teaching Alliance (MTA) in collaboration with the College of Education, Dept. of Curriculum and Instruction, Rod Library and United Health Care. This year first-grade students will enjoy a variety of activities and special guests including:

  • Bryan Collier, author-illustrator and winner of the 2014 CSK Illustrator Award for the book, Knock, Knock, will share stories about his life and some of his literary works
  • Nothando Zulu, storyteller, president and director of the Black Storytellers Alliance, will share her folktale and storytelling talents
  • And many more special guests and activities are planned for the event
