In honor of the 2014 UNI Earth Week Celebration, UNI students are invited to participate in an afternoon of relaxing yoga. This free event will feature certified UNI yoga instructors. All participants will receive a water bottle. Classes will be held at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Wednesday, April 23, 2014 - 6:00 pm

Join the RRTTC, Cedar Valley Cyclists, and UNI Cycling Club in a bike ride around Cedar Falls to celebrate UNI's Earth Week. The ride will start and end at Mulligan's on 18th Street in Cedar Falls. Helmets are required for participation. Pre-registration required. All registered participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Craving a home cooked meal? You can't beat  a homemade meal and helping a family in need! Tickets are only $5! Gabriel, a 4 month old that has been diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening heart defect, called ALCAPA, has had surgery, but continues to stay at the hospital to continue further treatment. The family is experiencing a lot of medical bills, travel costs, etc. All the proceeds from our spaghetti supper with be donated to the family to assist with their financial needs. 

Tuesday, April 29, 2014 - 6:30 pm

The 8th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony will include a poster display, lighting of memorial candles, a musical performance and a screening of the highly acclaimed film "Nicky's Family" (appropriate for sixth graders and older). The film is about the rescue by Nicholas Winton, a young British stockbroker, of 669 children from Czechoslovakia during the months preceding the beginning of the war, and the living legacy of the "power of good" that Winton and his associates made possible. 

“Nicky’s Family” is also being shown at no charge to school groups at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 28, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Seats are still available; schools that want to send a group of students to this event should contact Stephen Gaies, 319-273-3870 or gaies@uni.edu.

This event is free and open to the public. Sponsors are the Center of Holocaust and Genocide Education and Sons of Jacob Synagogue of Waterloo.

Lavender Graduation Ceremony is a celebration that recognizes the accomplishments of the LGBT* community and its graduating seniors. 

Thursday, May 1, 2014 - 7:30 am to 2:30 pm

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. There will be an assortment of Tropical plants, flowering bulbs, herbs and vegetables. Student Nature Society members will be available to assist shoppers.
