Summer Camp: Camp Multimedia

Tuesday, July 7, 2015 - 8:45 am to 3:00 pm

Now in its seventh year, Camp Multimedia is a week-long summer camp that offers middle-school-aged students the opportunity to become creators, and not just consumers, of digital media.

In 2015, Camp Multimedia students will be able to choose specialized instruction in one of four areas:

  • 3-D Animation: Conceive and create 3-D digital projects using movie-quality animation tools.

  • Video Game Design: Create your own game via drag-and-drop programming interfaces.

  • Advanced Video Game Design (for those who have already taken VGD): This specialization takes Minecraft to a new level, using the Raspberry-Pi edition to tap into programming hacks for the world's most popular video game.

  • Video Creation and Production: Work as part of a project team to create and edit short-form videos using special effects software.

As weather and time allows, CMM will also use the CHAS portable iPad lab to take students onto campus to create multimedia projects via built-in features in the iPad 2 that allow for the integration of text, image, and video.
