The course examines various approaches to mentoring preservice teachers and strategies to reap the greatest mutual benefit from the experience. Topics include setting expectations, instigating greater involvement and benefit from the preservice teacher, coaching and problem solving strategies, learning about the development of future teachers through each level of UNI’s teacher education program, and participating in collaborative inquiry about improving the UNI program.
