MUS ED 4133/5133 WKSP: Approaches for Improving Teaching in Elementary General Music -- 1 unit(s)

This workshop offered for graduate credit will focus on implementing improved practices in the elementary general music classroom. Utilizing the Orff Schulwerk approach to teaching, participants will learn about and experience unique methods of further integrating pitched percussion, unpitched instruments, recorders, speech, and movement into their curriculum. Children's literature will also provide a basis for curricular integration. Technology, specifically the interactive white board, will also be a large component of these workshops. Each participant will interact with the board during the workshops and as part of the assignments.
