The Deptartment of Earth Science provides opportunities for teachers and their students as well as other groups to visit our facilities in Latham Hall and immerse themselves in the Earth Sciences. Visitors can examine and experience a variety of things geological (rocks, minerals, fossils, Iowa geological resources, Ice Age Iowa, geodes); meteorological (real-time weather, tornado machine); and astronomical (planetarium show).

Latham Hall was completed in 1949 to house art and industrial technology programs. It is now home to the Design, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Earth Science departments. |
