Overview

For those individuals that come from abroad to work at UNI, the University offers guidance and assistance to ensure that UNI employees, and those recently offered employment, can obtain and maintain the legal authorization to work and remain in the United States. Consultation is available for all UNI departments and employees regarding work authorization for Faculty and P&S foreign nationals. Whether the employment will be temporary or long-term, the appropriate authorization will be identified.

If your department is currently involved in a search and are considering hiring a candidate for a non-temporary position that requires sponsorship to work in the U.S., make an appointment with Krista Herrera in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost for faculty or Lisa Frush in Human Resource Services for staff to review options early in the process.

If you are a faculty member currently working with temporary authorization and you are interested in pursuing employer sponsored permanent residency, make an appointment with Krista Herrera in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost to review your eligibility. Krista can be contacted by email at ImmigrationHR@uni.edu or by phone at 319-273-2519.
