Registration Now Open for Faculty Focus ─ Intersession Technology Workshops

Faculty Technology Integration Week Scheduled for January 3-6

Faculty, mark your calendar for special educational technology workshops, with an emphasis on integration strategies, scheduled for January 3-6. Anticipated topics include Bb Learn 9, lecture capture, webinar technology, video conferencing, mobile learning, Google tools and more. There will also be special work sessions with educational technology staff present. More details to come.

Fall 2011 Drupal Office Hours

UNI CIO Shashi Kaparthi is pleased to announce that UNI will be moving all students, faculty, and staff to UNI Gmail and Google Applications for Education (Google Apps) during the fall of 2011. This change offers UNI a comprehensive and evolving set of collaboration and communication tools that enhance both instruction and campus operations. UNI Gmail and Google Apps provides quality applications and increased storage capabilities at a fraction of the cost the University would have incurred otherwise.

Test Scoring Services, Fall 2011

With the new SIS system now live, the hours of operations for ITS Network Services is being reduced. As a result there will be changes in the test scoring operation effective with the beginning of the Fall 2011 semester. Changes are highlighted by UPPERCASE. The significant change in this announcement is the elimination of evening hours (after the end of official office hours) for the pick up to test scoring results. During Fall 2010 semester, after hours pickup was used 20 times. Please share this information with your faculty.

New Google, UNI Partnership

On Monday, April 25, UNI began offering Google Apps for Education (Google Apps) to newly enrolled students. Google Apps is a free suite of Web-based messaging and collaboration applications hosted on Google's servers. Google provides these apps as a service rather than software you have to download and install. To access the apps, you simply use a Web browser on any computer connected to the Internet.
