NASA visit

Almost 50 years ago, millions of people across the globe watched from their televisions as astronaut Neil Armstrong walked on the moon -- a landmark achievement of human ambition that gave way to those immortal words: “That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Next year represents the 50th anniversary of that historic moon landing, and Gretta Berghammer hopes to be able to re-imagine that experience for a new generation.

Storm water management

The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) was established under the authority of the Clean Water Act in 1972 and is responsible for controlling and regulating point sources of discharge of pollutants to waters within each state to maintain, protect and restore the water quality of streams, lakes and rivers. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has designated UNI as a qualifying site, which requires the university to comply with certain storm water regulations. For more information, visit the storm water management webpage.
