Violent Incident Defense Strategies (V.I.D.S.)

UNI Police will host V.I.D.S. training sessions beginning Tuesday, March 12, in 109 CME. V.I.D.S. training is designed to help individuals increase their decision-making ability and chances of survival during an active shooter or violent incident. Security awareness: how to stay safe from tax scams

As people file their tax returns this year, cybercriminals will be busy trying to take advantage of this with a variety of scams. Citizens may learn they are victims only after having a legitimate tax return rejected because scammers already fraudulently filed taxes in their name. Philosophy Club meeting: Incredibles 2: Is Ethics Dead?

The Philosophy Club will show "Incredibles 2" followed by a discussion of ethics, political philosophy and technology in relation to Hollywood at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, in 111 KAB.

Victoria Hurst, public administration and political science, was honored recently as the Young Woman of Tomorrow by the YWCA during its 2015 Cedar Valley Women of Persimmon Awards luncheon.

The UNI American Advertising Federation placed first at the District 9 National Student Advertising Competition. The 16 winning district teams across the country will now compete in a semi-final round.

Olivia Mossman, a senior electronic media communications major, was named the Most Outstanding Intern by the American Advertising Federation Stickell Internship Advisory Board for her work last summer in New York City at global media agency Carat.

Molly Rome, a UNI senior majoring in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)/Spanish, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant to Argentina for an English Teaching Assistantship.
