Cybersecurity and 5G technology

John Dinger, former ambassador and UNI graduate, will speak about cybersecurity and 5G technology at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, in 25 SAB. Dinger was the principal deputy assistant secretary for intelligence and research in the U.S. State Department from 2006-2012. He will speak to the Model United Nations competition team about his experiences in the Foreign Service and U.S. foreign policy at 5 p.m., also in 25 SAB. Eating Disorder Awareness Week speaker

Sarah Thompson, Certified Body Trust provider, eating disorder recovery coach and consultant, will tell their personal story of eating disorder recovery for 18 years at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the Slife Ballroom, COM. Road To Resilience workshops

Two one-hour workshops on building your personal resilience will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Scholar Space, LIB. This interactive workshop will help you identify your strengths and focus on areas to work on to build resilience. Learn to prepare for and recover from life's surprises and gain the ability to overcome adversity. Please register in advance.

Victoria Hurst, public administration and political science, was honored recently as the Young Woman of Tomorrow by the YWCA during its 2015 Cedar Valley Women of Persimmon Awards luncheon.

The UNI American Advertising Federation placed first at the District 9 National Student Advertising Competition. The 16 winning district teams across the country will now compete in a semi-final round.

Olivia Mossman, a senior electronic media communications major, was named the Most Outstanding Intern by the American Advertising Federation Stickell Internship Advisory Board for her work last summer in New York City at global media agency Carat.

Molly Rome, a UNI senior majoring in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)/Spanish, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant to Argentina for an English Teaching Assistantship.
