Celebrating our graduating Panthers

Our graduating seniors found a place to call home when they came to the University of Northern Iowa. Their tireless academic preparation, strong relationships with faculty and other students, and wide variety of out-of-class experiences have helped create a strong foundation for their future. These are but a few of our promising fall graduates:

“Cedar Falls and the UNI campus are both very welcoming communities, so I immediately felt at home here. The business education at UNI is a great value for what we pay. I get individual attention and the professors go out of their way to make themselves available to help students.”

“UNI has become my home away from home. The support I’ve received from professors while going through my courses, as well as from the staff through my leadership in the UNI Veterans Association, has been absolutely fantastic.”

“My leadership in the UNI Veterans Association and involvement in the College of Business has opened my eyes to the demands of leading an organization in today’s dynamic world. The connections made here with staff and faculty last a lifetime, so they will be excellent resources to utilize down the road.”

Brittney England

Hometown: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Major(s): Movement and Exercise Science
Post-Graduation Plans: Pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy at Des Moines University.

“I was given so many opportunities to pursue my passions [at UNI]. I was able to continue playing soccer on the club level, raise money and awareness for cancer, and enhance my leadership skills in various organizations on campus, all while taking classes.”

“The graduate school I’m attending, DMU, said they love UNI students because they feel that we are very well prepared when we begin their program. I believe that the upper level courses I took at UNI challenged me to do more than go through the motions, but rather develop a deeper understanding of the content and realize the connection to my future career.”

“UNI has the big campus feel with the small campus community. Professors will know you by name and are more than willing to help you; they want to see you become successful and reach your goals… Being part of the UNI community has been an unforgettable experience and I would recommend it to everyone.”

Caleb Wubben

“The main reason I chose UNI is because of it's excellent teacher education program. I had always heard people speak highly of not just the teacher education program but of the university as a whole. When I visited, I immediately felt welcomed and the positive learning culture was evident.”

“I enjoyed all the activities and opportunities UNI has for students.  There are so many things to do here and there truly is something for everybody! Once I got involved, I began to meet new people and form friendships that will last long after I graduate.”

“One of the biggest ways UNI helped me prepare for my career was giving me multiple opportunities to have real-world experiences. As an education major, I took advantage of these opportunities every semester, whether it was a course requirement or just a way to get extra experience. This allowed me to better myself as a person and as an educator.”

“What I enjoyed most about attending UNI was the love and encouragement from my peers and the excellent education and life lessons learned from my professors.”

“Students should attend the University of Northern Iowa because it provides several accredited academic programs with guidance from professors and a multitude of resources available to all students. It also will provide you with countless opportunities to become friends with people from various cultures and backgrounds.”

Anna Varriano

“I greatly enjoyed the family atmosphere that has been created here. The amount of support you receive from your peers, professors, staff, community, and etc. is truly amazing. Everyone here wants you to succeed, and to be the best student you can be.”

“Being a student-athlete at UNI has prepared me immensely for the next chapter in my life. Coach always talked about his philosophy of ‘4 for 40.’ What that means is that these four years will prepare you for the next 40 years of your life. I kept that in the front of mind when it came to school, softball and life.”

“UNI has done more for me than just to allow me to continue my education. UNI has allowed me to prepare for my future and ensure I live the best life I can.”
