How to report a bias-related incident

The purpose of UNI's Bias Reporting Team is to provide individuals who have witnessed or have been a target of bias-related incidents the opportunity to be heard, supported and encouraged. If you see or hear someone become the target of an act of bias or you are a target of an act of bias, please submit a bias incident report.

The Northern Iowa Feminists will discuss toxic masculinity at 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, in the Oak Room, MAU. The discussion will center on how boys are raised and conditioned in their reactions to situations and how we can move away from this mode of parenting and societal training.

Violent Incident Defense Strategies training

UNI Police will host two V.I.D.S. training sessions on Monday, April 17, in 30 BCS. V.I.D.S. training is designed to help individuals increase their decision-making ability and chances of survival during an active shooter or violent incident. Screening of 'The Good Lie'

UNI RISE (Refugee and Immigrant Support and Empowerment) and the UNI Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education will show the movie "The Good Lie" at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 30, in the CME. The movie tells the story of four of the 20,000 “Lost Boys and Girls of Sudan” who walked thousands of miles to find refuge from the Second Sudanese Civil War and who eventually resettled in the United States. The event is free and open to the public.

There will be a moderated discussion of the significance of August Wilson's plays with special guest Lou Bellamy at 1 p.m., Friday, March 31, in 040 LNG. On-campus book drive

Panthers for Pages is collecting used children's books for the Waterloo school district for students to keep. Please bring books to drop boxes in the Honors Cottage or Essentials in MAU by Monday, April 3. Monetary donations are also accepted. Panthers for Pages is a community engagement project through the University Honors Program, sophomore class of Presidential Scholars.

Spring Diversity Showcase 2017
