Spring Diversity Showcase 2017

The International Student Association will host the Spring Diversity Showcase at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, in the Coffeehouse, MAU. The show highlights campus diversity through a cultural talent show of music and dance, a fashion show and traditional activities from around the world. A variety of international foods will be available for sampling. Groups or individuals wanting to participate in the talent show should email ISA.

UNISTA will host the workshop production of "I'll Be Seeing You" at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, March 24-25, in 108 CAC. The production is written and directed by student Colin Mattox. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

Panther eSports will host the first Panther Gaming Convention from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, March 25, in GBPAC. There will be leisurely gaming activities, including video games, board games and card games. There will be Smash Brothers, League of Legends and Magic the Gathering tournaments.

Art Gay-la call for submissions

The LGBT* Center is partnering with Rod Library for the 2nd Annual Art Gay-la, and we are seeking LGBTQ-related artwork of all mediums. Submissions will be displayed near the Book Bistro, LIB, during Pride Week, April 3-9. Freezer meal prep class

Lisa Krausman, administrative dietitian, will have a freezer meal prep class from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, in the expansion kitchens, MAU. Participants will be assisted in creating eight different healthy freezer meals. This is a great opportunity to learn some new easy recipes and stock up on healthy meals. The cost is $60. Women's Fitness Night

The International Students and Scholars Office, the Wellness and Recreation Center, the Muslim Student Association and Student Wellness Services will host Women's Fitness Night from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 25, in the WRC. UNI Earth Day booth registration

The RRTTC will host the UNI Earth Day Celebration from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 20, outside of Maucker Union. Organizations that are environmentally themed are encouraged to participate. UNI Night at the Waterloo Black Hawks

UNI will host Panther Pride Night at the at the Waterloo Black Hawks hockey game on Saturday, March 25, at Young Arena. Doors open at 6:05 p.m. with the game starting at 7:05 p.m. President Nook will drop the first puck. All UNI employees and their family or guests can receive discounted tickets. Faculty/staff tech tips

The Blackboard Retention Center is an important tool to check the overall academic health of your class to see who is struggling. With just a glance, find out who needs your help and drill in to see their specific areas of difficulty. You can contact at-risk students immediately and flag those you want to monitor closely. As you observe their progress and send emails, you can also keep track of this correspondence and make notes about each student in the Retention Center. 2nd Annual Run4UNI

The 2nd annual Run4UNI will be at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 29, on the UNI campus. Runners can register for the 1-mile or 4-mile option, finishing inside the UNI-Dome. Race participants will receive a t-shirt and post-race food and beverage. UNI students receive a $5 discount. All proceeds will benefit the Panther Scholarship Club. UNI's Elementary Literacy Conference to feature author/illustrator Anne Sibley O'Brien

The 49th annual Elementary Literacy Conference will be held Friday, April 7, in the Schindler Education Center. The conference will feature best-selling author and illustrator Anne Sibley O'Brien and will focus on the theme "Open Arms, Open Hearts, Open Minds: Inclusive Teaching and Classrooms That Welcome ALL!" A pre-conference will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. The conference is free for UNI students and faculty; registration is required.

2017-18 FAFSA workshop

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will host a workshop to help current students fill out their FAFSA for the 2017-18 school year from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, in 134 ITTC.
