Mission

We help students succeed.

We do this by:

  • Facilitating engagement so that all UNI students feel they belong.

  • Emphasizing relational experiences and connections.

  • Prioritizing holistic care for the well-being of our students.

  • Meeting students where they are on their journey to success.

  • Providing radical student service, in all that we do.

Strategic Priorities

  • We will continue to emphasize the in-person experiences for students to develop a strong sense of campus energy, providing opportunities for all students to build connections with peers, staff, and faculty, and know what it means to belong to the UNI community.

  • We will provide leadership in the collaborative efforts to support students across our UNI community, prioritizing partnerships across divisions and within the Cedar Valley and Iowa communities..

  • We will uplift innovation in our program development to attract new students and guests, retain existing students and guests, and serve existing students and guests within our UNI “reach” who may not yet utilize our services.

  • We will support our team of employees by supporting personal and professional development, with a commitment to be a great place to work.

  • We will tell our story, prioritizing communication strategies that connect our work with students, faculty, staff, families and community members. 

  • We will assess and evaluate our spaces and departments to ensure we provide radical student service, in all that we do and offer, while centering efficiency, coordination, and student engagement in our decision making.

  • We will be responsible stewards of our resources, assessing and connecting our work to campus priorities and commitments.
