Substance Abuse

As part of University Health Services, the Division of Student Affairs, and in collaboration with many other campus partners, provides preventative and supportive services for students concerning alcohol and other drug use. All of these services are confidential.

  • Consultation with students who are concerned about their substance use or that of a partner, family member or friend, or about a recent incident/arrest
  • Consultation with faculty and staff who are concerned about a student’s substance use
  • Assessment of students with alcohol and/or drug problems to determine if and what level of follow-up care is needed (*call for eligibility criteria)
  • Referrals and assistance in accessing helping resources
  • Workshops and Programs for students who have violated University Alcohol & Drug Policy
  • Assistance making requests for academic modifications for students entering treatment programs
  • Prevention programming, education, outreach and staff training
  • Coordination of university efforts to implement and sustain best practices in prevention and intervention services
