In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard, a young, gay student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in a lonely field under a blanket of stars. His death sparked a worldwide and ongoing conversation about the costs of hate and the importance of acceptance. This three-part fusion oratorio speaks with a fresh and bold voice, incorporating a variety of musical styles seamlessly woven into a unified whole. The UNI Concert Chorale will perform, under direction of conductor John Wiles. This event is ticketed.

UNI Trombone Studio will host this one-day event that focuses on trombone performance and pedagogy. Events will include masterclasses, Q&A sessions, and performances by attendees, UNI students, and guest artists. Open to middle school and up. So when a mysterious event occurs, Suzette is forced to do that most difficult thing – prove herself worthy of her destiny.
